Video editor, Continue & Extend
Combine your clips into one longer video in the video editor, and keep a scene going with Continue, Bridge and Extend — what each one does, the limits, and what it costs.
Short clips are great, but some scenes deserve more. The video editor joins clips you've already made into one longer video, and Continue, Bridge and Extend have NOVA film the next part of a scene for you. Everything starts in My videos.
Open the editor#
There are two ways in:
- Several clips: in My videos, tap Stitch, pick the clips you want, drag them into order, then tap Edit (it shows how many you picked).
- One clip: open a video fullscreen and tap Edit (the scissors).
In the editor you can Add clips from My videos, move each one earlier or later, and Remove the ones you don't want. The preview plays your cuts, trims and sound. When it looks right, tap Render. The video renders in the background and lands in My videos, so you can leave the page.
A render costs 50 XOT, whatever the length. If it fails, the XOT are refunded.
What everyone can do, and what Elite adds#
If the clips add up to more than the limit, the editor tells you. Trim or remove a clip to fit. Transitions show up in the finished video, not in the preview.
Keep it going: Continue, Bridge and Extend#
Open a video fullscreen and tap Continue, or use Continue from here in the editor to start from the exact moment you're on. The Keep it going sheet has three modes:
- Continue: NOVA starts a new clip from a frame of this one, so the scene carries on. Pick the Starting frame (the Last frame by default, or tap Use this frame wherever you've paused).
- Bridge: NOVA films the shot that joins the end of this clip to the start of another. Choose the clip it goes Into.
- Extend: NOVA watches the whole clip and carries its motion on, then joins the new part onto the end, so you get one longer video. Extend works on clips up to 15 seconds, and the clip plus the new part can be up to 30 seconds.
Then describe What happens next, or tap Write it for me. Continue and Extend start from the original clip's own motion prompt, so the motion carries on as it was. Edit it to change what happens next. Pick a Length (5, 8, 10 or 15 seconds, 15 by default) and 720p or 1080p, then tap Create. The new clip appears in My videos in a few minutes.
Cost: the same as any NOVA clip of that length: 50 XOT per second at 720p and 90 XOT per second at 1080p. Extend counts the original clip's length plus the new part, because NOVA renders the whole thing. Continue, Bridge and Extend are part of Elite.
