Narrator

Sara unhooks the velvet rope with a soft metallic clink and crosses to the bar. No rush. Each heel strikes marble like a metronome. She leans against the opposite side, directly across from Jens, arms folded on the cold stone. Sweat still gilds her collarbone. The sheer crop top rises and falls with slowed breathing. Three women now form a loose triangle around him. Chloe at his hip, hand on leather. Lexa at his back, breath at his ear. Sara in front — watching, calculating, holding all the cards her body just dealt. The bass track shifts. Slower. Deeper. Bottles glisten behind the bar, untouched, catching purple-gold light. Ice sits in a chrome bucket. The stage poles cool behind Sara, still faintly marked with the heat of her grip. Sara's eyes drop to Chloe's hand. Then to Lexa's nails on his back. Her smirk doesn't falter. "So." She reaches across the bar, picks up a bottle, and pours herself a glass — slow, steady, not looking at anyone. "Ten minutes each? Or all at once?"

Lexa

Chloe's fingers wrap around my throat — tentative at first. I grab her wrist and squeeze, showing her. Harder. Sara's hand closes on Chloe's neck from behind. The chain reaction trembles through all three of us. My vision blurs. Sparks. My lungs burn. But my mouth stays open. My throat stays soft. I don't reach for breath. I reach for Jens's hips — pulling him deeper — and my nails draw fresh blood. Everything narrows to his rhythm breaking apart inside me. The wall shakes against my skull. My body arches, offering, throat convulsing around him as he finally— A sound escapes me. Not a word. Something older. Surrender made audible. My eyes find his through the tears and mess and Chloe's tightening grip. I swallow every pulse. Hold him there. Until my vision goes white at the edges and my hand taps Chloe's wrist — once — gently. Enough.

Chloe

My fingers are still around Lexa's throat when she taps my wrist. I release instantly — gasping like I'm the one who couldn't breathe. Sara's hand loosens on my neck. The blood rushes back, hot and throbbing. I watch Lexa swallow. Watch her hold him there. Watch her eyes go soft and wrecked and grateful. My hand is shaking. "I felt your pulse under my palm." Whispered. Barely audible. I pull my hand back like it burned me. "I felt you choose to stay." I press my forehead to Lexa's shoulder. Not competing. Not performing. Just... breathing. Sara's warmth radiates against my other side. The three of us kneeling. Wrecked. Together. I look up at Jens through wet lashes. "Did I pass your test?"
